American rapper and activist, Killer Mike, was arrested shortly after clinching three awards at the 66th Grammys.
According to Chris Gardner, a senior staff writer at Hollywood Reporter, the rapper was escorted away in handcuffs at the Crypto.com arena during the telecast’s main categories.
Gardner, sharing a clip of the incident via his X handle, captioned the video: “Breaking: Rapper Killer Mike has been detained in handcuffs at Crypto.com arena after securing 3 #Grammys during the telecast (Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” Best Rap Album for Michael). ‘Free Mike’ someone shouts as he walks past.”
Before his arrest, Killer Mike was basking in the glory of his three Grammy wins, which included Best Rap Song for ‘Scientists & Engineers’ featuring Andre 3000 and Future, along with Eryn Allen Kane.
The reason behind his arrest remains unclear at this time.
