Big Brother Naija season four housemate, Seyi Awolowo, popularly known as Awolowo’s grandson, has again apologised over the comment he passed during his time in the house.
Seyi who made some comments bordering on sexual harassment and violence during a discussion with fellow housemates, said he would encourage his sons to “run train” on people’s daughters.
The reality TV star who remarked on hoping to have three male children having given birth to one already, said:
“I gave birth to a boy first. He will f*ck your daughter. I have a ‘shina’ account for my son. I pay money into it. I have it for one of my guy’s sons. I have that account for a lot of my boys’ sons. They will f*ck your daughter….”
His remark was condemned by viewers and social media users, who accused Awolowo of promoting rape culture and objectification of women.
While he has since apologised, in a chat on Channels Television’s breakfast show, The Morning Brief, Awolowo described women as the most powerful beings on earth.
“Our women are the most powerful beings on earth,” he said. “They bring life. Even we men don’t bring life, we bring things but we don’t carry life.”
He described his comment as an explosion of emotions.
“At that moment, I was really angry at a lot of things. It was just an explosion of emotions,” he added. “I really I’m sorry for that, for the word I used. It was a particular word and I really regret that word because that was not my intention.”
He also spoke on the factors that inspired him to join the BB, how his mum was against it, and the role his brother played during that moment.
