Tragedy struck as a 13-year-old boy, Kelvin Onyengba, drowned on Tuesday during a hangout at the Alatise beach in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
According to reliable source, the deceased went swimming with five of his friends.
Also it was gather by police about the tragedy that the boy Kelvin died as a result of the sea’s waves.
“The incident happened yesterday. The mother of the boy said that the wave of the water swept her son.
According to her, he went out with five of his friends to swim and hang out, but unfortunately, the boy did not come back to his parents,” the source said.
According to the report, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He said that the scene of the incident had been visited by detectives from the area while the family of the deceased was still waiting for the missing body to emerge from the sea.
He said: “The scene of the incident was visited by detectives from the division while the family was waiting for the body to emerge from the sea”.
