Former Nigerian international Peter Ijeh has faulted the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to part ways with former Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George.
Recall that Finidi tendered his resignation following NFF’s plan to hire a foreign coach who will mentor him. Under his reign, the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw against South Africa before losing 2-1 to Benin in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Reacting to the development, Ijeh in a chat stated that the NFF should have given the former Ajax star more time with the senior national team.
“From the beginning, I believe the NFF vetted who they wanted. Two foreign coaches before Finidi lost their first five matches. They should have handled the situation better,” Ijeh said.
“Writing a contract is one thing; the clauses of the contract are another. Who knows what he signed or what the agreement was?
“Everything that happened, they can’t try it with a white man.”
