*Says Flying Eagles Should Hope For The Best, As Destiny Is No More In Their HandsFormer Super Eagles attacker, Chinedu Obasi has urged the Nigeria U20 side led by Coach Ladan Bosso to raise their heads high, following their 1-0 loss to Ghana on Wednesday, at the ongoing WAFU Zone B tournament.
Ladan Bosso’s led boys are on the brink of elimination from the competition after being held by Cote d’Ivoire in their opening group game on Sunday, before losing to their West African Side, Ghana 1-0 in a costly manner on Wednesday.
With that loss to Ghana, the flying Eagles’ hopes of qualifying for the Semifinals of the WAFU ZONE B tournament as well as the CAF U20 AFCON, all hang in the balance, as their fate is no more within their powers.
In a chat with Sports 247, the former Flying Eagles attacker, Chinedu Obasi admitted that Ladan Bosso’s side are in a very precarious position, but it’s very key for them to hope for the best and keep on believing.
“You don’t know what is going on in their mind in this kind of situations and I don’t think any footballer go into a game to lose, but all I can say is that they should keep their head up and continue working hard because, in every loss, there is always a lesson to learn”.
“They have to reflect and see what they did wrong and what they can improve on because there is always another chance, but it is difficult when you have to leave it for another team to decide. ”
“As it is, it’s not in their hand anymore, all they can just do is hope and I wish them all the best”, he concluded.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria can only qualify if the Ivory coast Loses to Ghana because a draw or a win for Ivory Coast against Ghana signifies the exit of Nigeria from the WAFU Zone B tournament, as well as the 2021 CAF U20 African Cup of Nations.
