Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, the Nigerian Fuji singer better known as KS1 Malaika, has dismissed claims that his mother has passed away.

On Monday night, Azeez Malaika, the Fuji star’s relative, announced the death of his mother via an Instagram post.

“I never knew you would leave without saying goodbye, mother,” he wrote.

“The most painful part is that you left when I was not around. Unquestionable God. Rest well, mother.”

However, several news outlets reported that the singer had lost his mother. The reports also implied that Azeez and the musicians are brothers.

In an Instagram post, Malaika clarified that he and Azeez are brothers but do not share the same mother.

He also called out bloggers for the misinformation while reassuring them that his mother is “hale and hearty”.

“She is alive and healthy. Bloggers should do their findings before carrying any news,” he wrote.

“My mother is alive, well and healthy. Continue to live in good health my mum. Az is my blood but not the same mother.”

Malaika started his music career at an early age, playing and performing in a Quranic school in the Agege area of Lagos state.

In 1983, he formed his Fuji band. Since then, Malaika has received numerous awards, and accolades and gained fans worldwide for his talent.
