Champions League: Real Madrid in glorious comeback against Dortmund, thanks to Vinicius Jr.

Vinicius Junior delivered a masterclass as Real Madrid staged a stunning comeback to thrash Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in a Champions League thriller at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

The night began with Real Madrid facing early frustration, as Serhou Guirassy set up Donyell Malen for a clinical finish in the 30th minute, giving Dortmund a 1-0 lead.

Moments later, Jamie Gittens extended the visitors’ advantage with a composed close-range strike, leaving the home fans stunned at 0-2 by the 34th minute.

Real Madrid’s initial attempts to respond fell short. Jude Bellingham saw his powerful header expertly denied by Dortmund’s goalkeeper, and his rebound effort crashed off the crossbar.

Rodrygo came close as well, but his shot brushed the post, adding to Madrid’s frustrations.

However, the tide began to turn in the second half. Antonio Rudiger headed in a brilliant pass from Kylian Mbappe in the 60th minute, cutting the deficit to 1-2.

Vinicius Junior, though, had a goal disallowed for offside shortly after, temporarily halting Madrid’s momentum.

But Madrid’s comeback truly ignited when Lucas Vazquez struck in the 83rd minute with a solo effort, putting the home side ahead 3-2. The Bernabeu erupted, and Dortmund’s defense began to crumble under relentless pressure.

Vinicius Junior then took centre stage. In the 86th minute, he weaved past defenders and unleashed a sublime shot from the edge of the box, beating Gregor Kobel and making it 4-2.

As the match drew to a close, Vinicius sealed his hat-trick in stoppage time with a spectacular strike into the roof of the net, leaving the Dortmund keeper helpless and cementing Madrid’s 5-2 triumph.

It was a night of magic in Madrid, with Vinicius leading the charge in a breathtaking comeback that left Dortmund in ruins.
