Everton sacks Coach, assistants over poor performance

Everton Football Club has announced the immediate dismissal of Sean Dyche as the Senior Men’s First Team Manager, sending shockwaves through the footballing community.

The club, in a statement on Thursday also confirmed the departure of his key backroom staff, including Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard, and Billy Mercer.

The sudden decision comes amidst mounting pressure on the team, with fans and pundits speculating about the factors behind the move.

While Everton has yet to provide details on the reasons for Dyche’s exit, the announcement signals a bold step by the club’s leadership to revive its fortunes.

Everton assured fans that the process to appoint a new manager is already underway. “An update will be provided in due course,” the club said, keeping supporters on edge about who might take the reins.

For now, former player and Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines will team up with Club Captain Seamus Coleman to manage first-team affairs on an interim basis.

The duo faces a daunting challenge as they attempt to stabilise the squad and steer the team through uncertain waters.

Sean Dyche, known for his no-nonsense approach and tactical acumen, joined Everton in January 2023 with hopes of revitalising the club’s performance.
