Top 50 Global Teacher: Gov. Abiodun lauds, rewards Kayode Adewale

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Wednesday played host to Kayode Adewale, a mathematics teacher at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School, who was recently recognized among the Top 50 teachers globally in the prestigious Global Teacher Prize.

The heartwarming ceremony took place at the Ogun State Government House in Abeokuta.

During the event, Governor Abiodun praised Adewale’s commitment to transforming lives through education, stating that his success reflects years of hard work, focus, and humility.

The governor, however, rewarded Adewale by honoring him as the Ogun State Education Ambassador, recognizing his role model status for educators in the state and beyond.

The governor also gave him a cash prize of ₦5,000,000 and a bungalow in any location of his choice within the state.

Receiving the recognition and rewards, Adewale was overcome with emotion.

He thanked the Governor and promise to continue to give his best to transforming lives through education.

Adewale’s innovative approach to teaching, which combines technology with local language instruction, made him a standout educator.

Meanwhile, Gov. Abiodun noted that rewarding him (Adewale) highlights Ogun State’s efforts to inspire educators and transform lives through quality teaching.
