Liverpool stormed past Bournemouth with a commanding 2-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium, courtesy of a stunning brace from Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian talisman delivered yet another decisive performance, keeping the Reds at the summit of the Premier League.
From the opening whistle, Bournemouth sought to unsettle their visitors, but Liverpool’s resilience proved unshakable.
The hosts came close in the 21st minute when Antoine Semenyo rattled the crossbar with a thunderous strike, sending an early warning to Jurgen Klopp’s men. However, it was Liverpool who drew first blood.
A VAR review in the 29th minute confirmed a penalty for the Reds after a contentious challenge in the box. With ice in his veins, Salah stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner, leaving Kepa Arrizabalaga with no chance.
The goal sent the travelling Liverpool fans into a frenzy and gave the visitors the upper hand.
Bournemouth pushed for an equaliser, but Liverpool’s defence, marshalled by Virgil van Dijk, stood firm.
The Cherries thought they had levelled in the 37th minute when David Brooks found the net, only for VAR to intervene and rule it offside, shattering their hopes.
The second half saw Liverpool take full control, and in the 75th minute, Curtis Jones orchestrated a brilliant attacking move, threading a perfect pass to Salah.
The forward made no mistake, curling a sublime finish into the left corner to seal his brace and the victory for the Reds.
Despite late efforts from Bournemouth, including a long-range attempt from Marcus Tavernier that sailed over the bar in stoppage time, Liverpool held their ground to secure all three points.
Salah’s heroics once again proved pivotal as Liverpool maintained their grip on the Premier League summit.
