AC Milan loanee Joao Felix has shed light on his decision to join the Serie A club from Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The Portuguese forward, who made the switch on a loan deal for the remainder of the season, struggled for regular game time at Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca.
Explaining why he chose Milan over other interested clubs, Joao Felix told journalist Fabrizio Romano:
“I didn’t ask AC Milan to play every game, just to play in my position… and Sérgio Conceição wanted exactly to put me in my best position. That was crucial for me to pick AC Milan.”
Meanwhile, AC Milan’s Senior Advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimović, revealed that securing Félix’s transfer was swift, stating that the deal was completed in just five minutes.
On the other hand, Chelsea boss Maresca downplayed the impact of Félix’s departure, insisting that his team is not missing the playmaker. He also acknowledged that the 24-year-old is happy at Milan.
