Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have killed four suspected terrorists and thwarted multiple attacks in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, highlighting two separate encounters with the assailants.
According to him, NSCDC personnel repelled an attack on the permanent site of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) on Feb. 21, where armed bandits attempted to infiltrate the institution.
“The gallant officers of NSCDC successfully neutralised three criminals, including the notorious Ayuba Buzaru, who led the attack on the university,” Hamisu stated.
During the operation, security personnel also rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered rustled livestock, including goats.
In another incident, NSCDC operatives, in collaboration with the police, repelled an assault on the Federal Government Special Grains Reserve (Silo) in Darawa on Sunday, Feb. 23.
“The valiant officers overpowered the attackers, eliminating one suspected terrorist, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds,” Hamisu added.
