Nigerian movie star, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has addressed recent criticism after being shamed for appearing different from her social media posts during an event.
The actress, who attended businessman Obi “Cubana” Iyiegbu’s 50th birthday celebration, shared filtered videos of herself online, showcasing a blemish-free appearance.
However, when Daddy Freeze shared a video of the actress from the event, some Nigerians noticed a visible difference and attempted to shame her for it.
In response to the backlash, Nkechi Blessing posted a video on social media, clarifying that she controls how she is portrayed on her own platform.
She made it clear that others’ perceptions of her appearance on their accounts were not her concern.
“How you see me on other people’s page is solely your business, your father’s business, your mother’s business, your whole generation’s business,” she stated in the video. “On my own page, I will post how I want you to see me. And another thing, you see my filter, I will never stop using it.”
