Inter Milan have submitted a fresh bid to sign Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
The new offer is reportedly worth €40 million with an additional €5 million in performance based add-ons, a clear increase from the first bid made weeks ago, which Atalanta flatly rejected.
Despite the improved offer, Atalanta are still holding out for a higher fee and talks between both clubs are yet to yield an agreement.
Lookman, 27, was one of the standout players in Serie A last season and rose to international prominence after scoring a stunning hat-trick to hand Atalanta the UEFA Europa League title in May.
With growing interest from top European clubs, Inter are hoping to snap up the Nigerian attacker ahead of the new season. However, Atalanta are unwilling to let him go easily.
Negotiations are ongoing.
