Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has dismissed talk that N’Golo Kante has suffered another fitness setback, after he was taken off at half-time against Aston Villa last night.
Kante is carrying a persistent groin injury, which has seen Tuchel use him sparingly thus far.
The France midfielder was brought on at the start of the second half against Tottenham on Sunday and played a pivotal role in the 3-0 victory.
The roles were reversed in the Carabao Cup last night, with Mount replacing Kante at the interval.
Tuchel has now explained the change was premeditated.
“For Mason and N’Golo it was clear that we share the game,” he said.
