The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports that it issued an identity card that bears its name and logo to security personnel with the inscription “Complete Access”.
INEC commissioner of information and voter education Festus Okoye in a statement said the identity card was not issued by the commission.
Okoye pointed out that identification cards for security personnel on election duty were given out by security agencies.
He said anyone with an identity card allegedly issued by INEC for security personnel is only on an illegal duty and such a person should be arrested and persecuted.
He urged the public to report such persons to security agencies.
