The Osun state’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, has given the panels’ and committees’ members the responsibility of keeping track of all misappropriated state property.
This information was provided in a statement that was released on Wednesday by Malam Olawale Rasheed, who serves as Adeleke’s Spokesperson.
A four-panel committee comprised of the State Assets Inventory and Recovery Committee, chaired by B. T. Salam, the Staff Audit/Appointments/Promotion Review Committee, chaired by Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji, the Contracts/MoU/Agreements Review Committee, chaired by Mr. Niyi Owolade, and finally the Chieftaincy Affairs Review Committee was established earlier by the governor.
In addition to this, the four committees will investigate any appointments that the previous government made after July 17.
Adeleke protested the rampant “pillaging” of public property through the deputy governor, Mr. Kola Adewusi.
He said
“You must right the wrongs and discharge your mandates with sense of urgency.
”We assure the people that we will not back down on our resolve to stop all post July 17 illegalities.”
He reaffirmed that the state payroll from before July 17 is still in place.
Adeleke asserted that no employee on the Osun payroll had been fired by the state government.
He added
”Those with issues to explain are those who entered the payroll after July 17.”
