Popular actor, producer, and production manager, Kehinde Adeyemi, has said playing the role of a policeman gives him joy.
Adeyemi, in a chat also said he was not trained to be a stereotypical actor and doesn’t mind playing any role.
He said, “As an actor, the first movie I participated in was Aminah Eleha, then Afomo by Jide Kosoko. I won’t forget the day Uncle Jide said, ‘Kenny oya come and do this for me.’
Since then I love acting as a police officer in a movie because it gives me joy when doing it. As an actor, all roles need to be done well but I like playing policemen in movies.”
When asked how he got into the entertainment industry, the popular actor said, “I had always wanted to do some form of entertainment, especially acting. When I was young I watched a lot of TV series in the 70’s and I always loved to act when watching a brother from the same town, Yinka Quadri acting then as Fagbamila.
“I belong to the Odunfa group which comprises Yinka Quadri, Ogogo and Abbey Lanre. When we went for acting, these veterans told us to try and pick one behind the scenes work and I decided to choose a production manager.
Then Bakky Adeoye used to be our PM, and I kept watching him and later took interest in film production. And since then I have been working as a production manager.
He listed some of the challenges associated with his job as a film producer. According to him, “As producers, we face different challenges when working, sometimes heavy rain, equipment breakdown or disappointment from casts. Film producers are more like clerics or pastors that teach people how to behave well. Any movie you watch and you didn’t learn from is not worth being called a movie.”
