Rasheedat Ajibade has insisted the Super Falcons are now gunning for a record extending 10th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations title after beating Cameroon in Thursday’s quarter-final clash.
The defending champions defeated the Indomitable Lionesses 1-0 in a thrilling contest at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca.
Randy Waldrum’s Ladies also booked a place at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup following the hard-earned win.
Ajibade, who was named Woman of the Match, scored the decisive goal for Nigeria in the 58th minute.
“We now want to go on to win a 10th title,” the Atletico Madrid star said after the game.
“We know that we have to compete with the best teams (to be champions again).
“We are ready, we’re in for it. We know what it takes.
“We will make sure we scale the next hurdle,” she added.
Ajibade has scored three goals and provided two assists in four outings for Nigeria at WAFCON 2022.
