Arsenal’s title hopes crumble after a disappointing draw at Forest

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes suffered another blow on Wednesday night as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

The result sees Mikel Arteta’s side fall further behind Liverpool, who now enjoy a commanding 13-point lead at the top of the table.

The Gunners struggled to break down a resilient Forest defence despite dominating possession for large spells of the game.

Forest, disciplined and well-organised, limited Arsenal to half-chances and successfully frustrated their attacking efforts.

The match was largely a tactical battle, with Arsenal trying to impose their usual passing rhythm while Forest remained compact and disciplined.

The visitors saw an early effort from Riccardo Calafiori cannon off the post in the 23rd minute, denying them an early lead.

Moments later, Nicolas Dominguez forced a stunning save from David Raya, keeping the home side in contention.

Arsenal’s best chance of the second half fell to Thomas Partey in the 87th minute, but the Ghanaian midfielder failed to keep his shot on target from the edge of the box.

Declan Rice also delivered a series of set-piece deliveries, but Forest’s defence stood firm, repeatedly clearing the danger.

As the clock ticked down, Arsenal intensified their push for a breakthrough, with substitutes Raheem Sterling and Ben White introduced to inject fresh energy. However, Forest continued to repel every attack, holding firm for a valuable point.
