First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged young girls to embrace modesty and reject revealing clothing, emphasizing that nakedness is not acceptable in Nigerian culture.
She spoke in a video shared on X by Arise TV on Saturday.
She emphasized the importance of confidence and self-awareness, urging young girls to be proud of who they are without compromising their values for the sake of fashion.
She said: “The message here is, we have to salvage our children. We see the way they dress, they keep forgetting that in Nigeria, we are beautiful.
“The moment you can see what they showcase on the screen I say we’re fashionable, we see what is going on.
“We are not having a MET gala, and everyone their nakedness is just everywhere and the men are well clothed.
“So we have to do something. Tell them the way it is, we don’t accept nakedness in our culture.
“That is not beautiful, and they are all beautiful girls, but they should be confident in who they are.
“We know who we are and don’t lose who you are.”
