Brentford Shatter United’s Hopes in Seven-Goal Thriller

Brentford roared back from behind to edge Manchester United 4-3 in a pulsating encounter that leaves the Red Devils teetering on the brink of disaster.

What began as a hopeful afternoon for United turned into a horror show, despite Mason Mount’s early opener—his first meaningful contribution in months—courtesy of a fine Alejandro Garnacho cross.

But Brentford weren’t fazed. Skipper Mikkel Damsgaard forced a slice of luck when his delivery bounced off Luke Shaw and into the net, drawing the Bees level.

The real chaos began just minutes later. Kevin Schade rose above debutant Tyler Fredricson to thunder home Brentford’s second.

United fumed, demanding play be stopped after Matthijs de Ligt went down moments before the goal—but their protests fell on deaf ears.

Schade wasn’t finished. He bagged his brace 20 minutes from time, heading in a perfect Bryan Mbeumo cross to put the Bees 3-1 up.

But they weren’t done. Brentford’s attack cut through United’s defence like butter, as Michael Kayode teed up Yoane Wissa for an emphatic fourth.

Garnacho gave United faint hope with a wonder strike from distance, and Amad Diallo slotted home five minutes into stoppage time to make it 4-3. But it was too little, too late.
