Don’t protest, no one believes our intentions are genuine – Kanayo warns Igbos

Despite the current economic hardship in Nigeria, veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo has sternly warned Igbos over the planned nationwide protest against President Bola Tinubu-led federal government.

Kanayo gave the warning in a viral video shared on his official Instagram page on Saturday night while reacting to the current situation of the country.

He insisted, Igbos are usually the target in everything in Nigeria, therefore, singing along with Davido’s “Unavailable” song, in substitute for protest would be the best option

Also, while describing the economic crisis as unfortunate, Kanayo stated that if Igbos cannot be trusted with leadership power in Nigeria, they can also not be trusted with protest.

He added, “Hunger has no religion. I have been looking for stores where only Muslims or Christians buy but I can’t see. So, I want to urge all Igbos to sing along with Davido’s ‘I’m unavailable’. Ndigbo are not available for protest in Nigeria.

However, “It’s unfortunate that we are all going through this economic hardship but the fact is we are not available.

He further said expressed, “We are always the target, we should learn from what happened. Let’s guard ourselves and ensure that people who said we cannot be trusted with leadership, we also want to tell them that we can also not be trusted with protest.”

Nigerianewsabroad reports that the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo had in a statement by its President General, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, warned Igbo youths against the planned nationwide protest.
