Former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida believes the Super Eagles will be a big threat to their opponents at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
He made this known on the backdrop of the team’s impressive 6-0 bashing of Sao Tome on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Recall that Nigeria topped group A with 15 points followed by Guinea-Bissau, who had 13 points.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Babangida stated that the crop of players in the Super Eagles coach can defeat any opponent at the tournament.
He noted that the team is still shaping up and will be a force to reckon with in Ivory Coast.
“I want to believe the best is yet to come from the Super Eagles considering the quality of players in Jose Peseiro’s disposal. Yes, we defeated Sao Tome 6-0 but I still believe the team is still shaping up and will be a force to reckon with at the 2023 AFCON.
“With the caliber of players that we have at the moment, the team just need the right mentality and understanding to be a tough nut to crack in Ivory Coast.”
