EFCC busts alleged Internet fraudsters in Benin

Twenty eight suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC at different locations in Benin City, Edo State.

Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency revealed in a statement on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, on Wednesday May 14, at different locations in Benin City.

He added that the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.

The operatives also recovered five exotic cars, smartphones and laptop computers from the fraud suspects

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement concluded.
