The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has finally spoken up concerning the arrest of Martins Vincent popularly known as VDM.
Spokesperson to the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, revealed to BBC that his arrest was as a result of compiled complaints from various individuals.
“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” Oyewale said.
He also clarified that the arrest was in line with the anti-graft agency’s responsibilities.
The spokesperson of EFCC also shared that he would be charged to court in due time.
“We will release him when he meets the bail conditions and we will take the case to court as soon as possible; we are law-abiding.” he said.
The self acclaimed critic’s arrest was reported on the 2nd of May 2025 at a bank in Abuja.
