Football fans have reacted to the exclusion of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka from England’ 24-man squad for next month’s Nations League against Iceland and Denmark, Completesports.com reports.
Saka was Arsenal’s third best player of the season behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bernd Leno.
He was named Whoscored.com’s Europa League Young Player of the Season and ended the campaign with an FA Cup winners medal.
And following Gareth Southgate’s list for the Nations League, some of the fans took to their Twitter handles to comment on the 18-year-old’s omission.
James Benge, senior writer at football.london posited that Saka should have been invited as there are no left-back in the list of players invited.

“A bit weird to name no left-backs and not call up Bukayo Saka when he’s being very publicly courted by Nigeria. Always more to these things than just “where will I get a game” but also worth convincing your best young dual nationality players that they will get a game.”
Mathias lamented that Saka alongside James Maddison of Leicester City and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish were snubbed.
“This is England’s midfielders where is Maddison, Grealish and Saka?”
According to Mr DT, he endorsed the invitation of Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood but fault the exclusion of Saka.
“Southgate is clueless, I agree with Greenwood being included he’s been excellent for United, but no Saka or Grealish, get in the bin Gareth.”
Eddie Longbridge urged Saka to switch his allegiance to Nigeria saying his exclusion from the England team is a disgrace.
“Bukayo Saka should opt for Nigeria. His continuous exclusion from the England squad is an absolute disgrace.”
Trey corroborated Longbridge’s views advising the winger to represent Nigeria.
“Saka should just represent Nigeria, England don’t deserve him.”
In his own views Zoba said:”Choosing Nigerian will be a better option for him. A better chance of winning African player of the year and also more national team games.”
While GoonerTalk stated:”Bukayo Saka scored 4 goals and registered 12 assists in all competitions. The 4th highest assist total of all players in the Premier League. Played at LB, RB, CM, LW and RW. Won the Europa League young player of the tournament.
“He doesn’t get an England call-up. Ridiculous.”
