Harry Kane has thrown his support behind Thomas Tuchel as England’s new head coach.
Tuchel was named as the new England boss on Wednesday after last being seen in the dugout since waving goodbye to Bayern Munich over the summer, where he brought Kane to Bavaria.
The 51-year-old has been out of work since leaving Bayern at the end of last season and is familiar with both Kane and a number of other senior Three Lions stars.
England’s record goalscorer left Tottenham for Bayern during Tuchel’s time in charge of the Bavarian giants and bagged 44 times in just 45 games under the 51-year-old, while registering 12 assists.
Speaking in a statement, Kane said few moment before Tuchel was announced:“I know Thomas well from last year and [he’s a] fantastic coach and fantastic person, so I’m sure the guys at the FA will contact me when they know more about it.”
Tuchel is the third foreigner to be appointed England head coach, following in the footsteps of late Sven Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
