“How former Immigration boss, Parradang, died”

By Olaitan Ibrahim

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered, clarifying that his death occurred under different circumstances now under investigation.

According to an official statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja, on March 3, 2025, around noon, paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.

Adeh explained that shortly after checking in, the retired senior officer was visited by a female guest, who was escorted to his room by a hotel attendant.

She reportedly left the premises at 4:00 PM the same day, while Parradang remained in his room and was not seen exiting afterward.

Adeh said concerned for his whereabouts, a friend—a military officer—traced him to the hotel in the early hours of March 4, 2025.

The police explained that upon arrival, the officer and the hotel receptionist entered his room, where they discovered Parradang lifeless, seated in a chair.

“The Durumi Police Station was notified and officers promptly arrived at the scene, secured the area, took photographs, and collected all relevant evidence to preserve the integrity of the crime scene.

“The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with Police investigations. Effort is in top gear to effect the arrest of the lady,” Adeh explained.

In the wake of widespread misinformation, the FCT Police Command cautioned the public and media outlets against spreading unverified reports, particularly claims that the deceased was kidnapped and killed by assailants.

“We urge the public to remain calm and allow the police to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the actual cause of Mr. Parradang’s death. We are committed to ensuring justice is served,” Adeh stated.
