Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed delight after his man-of-the-match display helped Leicester City to a history 4-0 victory over Sporting Braga in a Europa League fixture on Thursday night.
It was the Foxes biggest result in Europe and the Nigerian scored a brace with James Madison and Dennis Praet adding the other goals.
“3 wins in 3 games in @EuropaLeague 🔥🔥,” Iheanacho posted on his private Twitter account.
Iheanacho has made two starts in Leicester’s three matches so far in the competition and scored three goals with three assists.20201106 010541
After the encounter Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers told LCFC TV: “It’s a very good start to the group. Three games, three wins and a good performance tonight against a good side.
“We knew Braga, you’ve seen how they played in the first half, they’re a very good side. They’ve got very good technical players and, tactically, they were very good.
“In the second half, we had to organise our midfield better. In the first half, there were too many gaps. In the second half, we were much better and, I thought, really dynamic in the game.
“We were really good going forwards and closed the game up behind. We didn’t concede any chances and ended up with a great win.”
Leicester have nine points after three games, three points clear at the top of Group G, and a win in Portugal over SC Braga on Thursday 26 November (5:55pm kick-off) after the international break would see the Foxes secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League competition.
