Nollywood actress and film producer Jaiye Kuti has paid tribute to late celebrities, including Lara Olubo, Onyeka Onwenu, and two of her colleagues who passed away in July 2024.
The deaths of these thespians have thrown the whole country, particularly the entertainment industry, into mourning.
Kuti expressed her heartfelt condolences to departed souls and prayed against untimely death in the creative sector.
“Some of you know Lara Olubo, and my guy Lanre and others who passed on. It’s very sad how the young ones among us are passing in the passage of death with one little sickness that does not naturally take life,” she said.
She also paid tribute to Onyweka Owenue, “May your beautiful soul rest well in the Lord. Mama you tried. You died giving us love. May all you leave behind never no sorrows. Rest in peace ma’am.”
Continuing, the Ilaro, Ogun State-born actress urged her colleagues to stay strong amidst life’s challenges.
“I don’t know what it is you are going through, but I want you to know that all of us have one or two things we are going through. Everybody is also facing challenges. Let’s take it easy. RIP to the dead. Let’s stay alive.”
