The Director-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Alhaji Saidu Sufi, has confirmed the arrest of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner of Special Duties.
Sankara was allegedly caught engaging in an illicit affair with a married woman at a hideout along Lamido Crescent Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano.
In an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Friday night, Sufi revealed that Sankara is currently detained at the Kurmawa Correctional Centre in Kano.
“Yes, I can confirm that Sankara was arrested at a hidden location along Lamido Crescent Road. He is now at Kurmawa prison. It is an unfortunate incident,” Sufi stated.
Reports indicate that Kano State Hisbah operatives apprehended the commissioner in an incomplete building in Kano on Thursday night, under suspicious circumstances.
The arrest was prompted by a complaint from Nasiru Bulama, the woman’s husband, who accused Sankara of engaging in an affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of his two children.
However, Nigerianewsabroad gathered that Bulama filed complaints with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife
