Former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga (rtd), has regained his freedom after spending nearly two months in the hands of his abductors.
A family member, Malam Suleiman Tsiga, confirmed the development to one of our correspondents on Wednesday, stating that the retired general was in good condition but receiving medical attention at an undisclosed location.
Tsiga was kidnapped on February 6 at his residence in Tsiga, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, along with several others.
His abductors initially demanded a ransom of ₦250 million before reportedly reducing it to ₦50 million.
While it remains unclear whether a ransom was eventually paid, relief has spread among his family and associates following his safe return.
