Nigerian music sensation, Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has vowed to quit music if anyone apart from Runtown comes forward to say they have ever written a song for him.
The singer had taken to his X handle to praise his colleague, Runtown, for being the first person to ever write a song for him.
“For the first time in my life, Person write song for me and na Runtown …… Sound God is not human,” he wrote.
An X user @KTwinBlog then took to the comment section to express doubt over Kizz Daniel’s claim.
“For the first….you sure?,” the user queried.
Responding, Daniel wrote, “Make any mofo come out say dem write for me I go stop music right now.”
While writing songs for artists is a global phenomenon, it’s still relatively overlooked in Nigeria due to fans’ assumption that artists who use songwriters are less talented.
Kizz daniel has also announced that after the release of his highly anticipated EP, Uncle K, on November 29, 2024, he won’t be dropping any new music until 2026.
“After this, I nodey drop anything again until 2026,” the Bugaa star tweeted, leaving fans in shock and flooding social media with pleas for him to reconsider.
Since his breakout hit Woju in 2014, Kizz Daniel has been one of Nigeria’s most consistent artists, delivering banger after banger and building a legacy with five successful albums.
Now, after almost a decade of non-stop hits, he’s ready to take a break.
Another reason that might lead to the break could be his recent loss. Kizz Daniel shared a deeply emotional moment, revealing that his wife had recently lost her mother to breast cancer.
“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her… Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he wrote.
