The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure, has been reportedly arrested by security operatives in Edo State.
Abure was arrested on Wednesday, a few days before the party’s primary election in Edo State.
Recall, Labour Party (LP) Chairmen in the 36 states have asked its National Chairman, Barr Julius Abure, to step aside for proper and fair investigation into the allegation of misappropriation of party’s finances leveled against him.
The call was made by Forum of LP States Chairmen in the 36 States of the Federation while addressing Journalists in Abuja, Saturday evening, led by Comrade Solomon Ndem, Plateau State labour Party Chairman.
Recall that Oluchi Opara, LP National Treasurer, had earlier asked Abure to account for N3.5 billion generated from the sales of nomination forms and other activities ahead of the 2023 general election.
