Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s determination to deliver the proposed Lekki International Airport and other transformative infrastructural projects across Lagos State.
During a visit to Alaro City, the governor announced that aviation regulators would arrive in Lagos next week for a site inspection and review, marking a critical step towards the commencement of the airport’s construction.
He emphasised that the project would boost future investments and further enhance the state’s economic landscape.
Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by top government officials, spent over two hours touring Alaro City and Universal One Development along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
He inspected four major companies operating within the Alaro City hub—Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes—praising the rapid infrastructural advancements in the area.
The governor also revealed that preparations for the Green Line Rail Project, stretching from Marina to Lekki, are in progress, with funding arrangements nearing completion.
“Alaro City is a testament to the success of our government-private sector collaboration. We are committed to providing the infrastructure necessary to attract more investments to this corridor. The Lekki Free Trade Zone, initiated under President Bola Tinubu’s administration when he was governor, has continued to expand, and we are building on that foundation,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
He urged investors to seize opportunities in the rapidly developing region, highlighting the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the six-lane Lekki-Epe Expressway, and the upcoming airport and rail projects as game-changing developments.
The Chairman of Alaro City, Ayo Gbeleyi, and the Managing Director, Yomi Ademola, both commended the Lagos State Government for its visionary leadership and strategic investments, which have accelerated economic growth and created job opportunities for Lagosians.
