Nigeria Footballer,Terem Moffi’s goals and overall performance for FC Lorient in a 2-2 draw at AS Monaco at the weekend has been recognised by the authoritative sports newspaper L’Equipe after they named him in their Team of the Week.
Organiser of the French topflight Ligue 1, has congratulated Terem Moffi and other players who made the Team of the Week for matchday 25.
Nigeria Moffi scored twice for his team against Monaco and he was a thorn in the flesh of the home team, who only salvaged a point thanks to a stoppage time goal.
Moffi two goals scored was unfortunately not enough to earn Lorient the win as they settled for a 2-2 away draw against AS Monaco.
A stoppage time goal from Wissam Ben Yedder denied Lorient the win and secured a share of the spoils for Monaco.
Moffi opened scoring for Lorient in the 7th minute from the penalty spot before Ben Yedder equalised on 48 minutes.
He made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute but in the 93rd minute Ben Yedder equalised to force a draw for Monaco.
Moffi has now scored three goals in his last two games and has taken his tally in the league to nine.
He was scored a seven out of 10 and will lead the attack of a team with a formation of 4-2-3-1, which Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr favours.
The 21-year-old striker is the highest scorer in Ligue 1 in 2021 with eight goals from nine matches.
Ligue 2 champions Lorient will hope the goals of the left-footed centre-forward, who they splashed a record eight million Euros on in the summer, will keep them in Ligue 1 come next season.
