A 52-year-old man, Morufudeen Idowu, has been sentenced to three months in prison for assaulting an official of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps at Ojota on Friday.

A source gathered that Idowu was arrested after he assaulted a KAI official who cautioned against crossing the Ojota Expressway as it violates Lagos State’s pedestrian safety regulations.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his verified X handle, disclosed that Idowu refused lawful arrest and assaulted the official performing his duty.

He said, “Following the arrest of Mr Morufudeen Idowu, who assaulted one of our personnel and refused arrest while crossing the expressway at Ojota, he was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at Oshodi and sentenced to three months imprisonment.”
