Musician Mukaila Senwele dies, laid to rest

Lagos-based entertainer, Mukaila Senwele, has been buried at the Muslim Cemetery in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Renowned for his unique comic performances, the 38-year-old was buried on Saturday.

Mukaila hailed from the Esinrogunjo family compound in Ilorin West Local Government Area. He died on Friday evening after performing at the birthday celebration of his former teacher, Moshood Pakata.

Reports revealed that Mukaila showed no signs of illness prior to his death. According to a family member, he was in good spirits throughout the day, interacting with fans and planning to visit his family house later in the evening. Sadly, he suddenly collapsed and died despite efforts to rush him to the hospital.

Ibrahim Toyeeb, the late singer’s stage manager, debunked rumour that Mukaila died while performing on stage. He explained, “We eat and performed Asr prayers together. We all sat down together and suddenly around 5 pm, he said Ha! and gave up. That was all and we quickly rushed him to the hospital but he was already dead before we got there.”

Mukaila, popularly known as “Omo Taye Nfe,” was admired by many for his humour and entertainment skills. Before his death, he had recorded two songs, one of which was released on the same day he died.

His death has left fans, family and admirers in shock, with many mourning the loss of a talented and beloved entertainer.
