USA-based Nigerian musician, Samuel Obatomide Obawusi, known as Samdot, says, the Nigerian music industry will take over the world, because of its immense potentials and the determined efforts of Nigerian artistes that are projecting the industry, far and near through their talents. According to him, the Nigerian artistic energy is very strong and dynamic and the sky is the limit.
Samdot is working tirelessly on his music career and pushing to make positive impacts on youths around the world. The Osun state born artist has been making music since he was a teenager with production credits on several songs from a younger generation of Nigerian artistes.
“In 10 years, the Nigerian music industry will take over the world because I can see the pressure already. More talented musicians keep showing on the timeline. So, I believe that even before 10 years, Nigeria’s music industry will be very great,” he said.
Samdot has contributed to the growth of the Nigerian music industry by contributing to the career of other artist and giving them financial support and becoming a source of inspiration for them.
Talking about his inspiration, Samdot said, Davido has always inspired him in the industry, just as he noted that he would not relent in following the popular act’s philanthropic gesture in empowering people.
Samdot schooled in Nigeria where he started his musical career in 2015, at Ajayi Crowder University, Oyo, and relocated to the USA where he continued his musical career.
He was born and raised in heart of the Yoruba dynasty at Ibadan, Oyo, as the second child in a family of five children.
