Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been rated the 98th most expensive player in the world according to the latest KPMG summary broadcasted on the market value of 150 football stars.
The 22-year-old presently carries the reputation of Africa’s most expensive player after his move from Lille to Napoli last summer.
His signature cost the Italian League giants about €83 million and the report values the former youth international at €50 million (about N29 billion). And this makes him the most valued Nigerian footballer.
Regardless, despite a decline of €6.8 million on his valuation from December 2020, the Nigerian still ranks higher than the duo of Paul Pogba and Kalidou Koulibaly.
This was due to the injury he picked up while on international duty for his country as well as the COVID-19 setback among other factors.
Also on the list of the 150 most valued players in the world is Leicester City defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, who is ranked 122nd in the globe.
Osimhen and Ndidi are the only Super Eagles players on the list and in truth, they are currently the most highly rated Nigerian players.
Osimhen impressed in his debut season at Lille where he scored 18 goals in 31 games to finish as the club’s Player of the Season.
He was also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season for his performances. His stock continues to rise as he is admired by a host of big clubs across Europe.
