Nottingham Forest have praised Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi for his goals and contribution to the club from last season to the current campaign.
Awoniyi was instrumental for Forest in their fight for relegation survival last season, netting important goals.
The former Liverpool striker is continuing from where he stopped last campaign, as he has already scored three goals and provided two assists in the league this season.
His goal in Forest’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United saw Awoniyi equal Mohamed Salah and Emmanuel Adebayor’s feat of scoring in seven consecutive games which stretched back to the tail end of last season.
Following his assist in the 1-1 against Burnley on Monday night, Forest took to their X handle to salute the striker.
“Our number nine. In his last nine #PL outings 🔥.”
The former Union Berlin player was on target for the Super Eagles in their 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe.
