Ondo governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Wednesday sacked all the commissioners and other political appointees he inherited from his deceased predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The sack of the commissioners and the political appointees was announced in a statement by media aide to Aiyedatiwa, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan issued in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to the statement, all cabinet members were to immediately hand over to permanent secretaries or to the most senior administrative officer in their ministries.
He added that other political appointees such as Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the governor were also relieved of their appointments.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of Ondo State,’’ Adeniyan stated.
Aiyedatiwa became Ondo State governor on Dec. 27 following the demise of his former principal, ex-Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu while still in office. (NAN)
