Reports from Italian media earlier today suggested that Victor Osimhen is likely to be out of action for the remainder of the year.
The Napoli attacker has been on the treatment table since dislocating his shoulder in Nigeria’s 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers last month.
However, Oma Akatugba, a top Nigerian reporter stated he spoke with the player and there is some positive news.
“I spoke with him [Osimhen] now and he says he is fine and should feature in a game before the end of the year,” Oma told Football Italia.
Osimhen’s last game for Napoli came on November 8th, just before the international break when he scored the winner against Bologna in Serie A.
He has missed the last six games of The Parthenopeans through a shoulder injury. With four games remaining before the conclusion of the year, the 21-years-old is likely to feature.
