Osimhen Fires Blanks In 4th Consecutive Game For Napoli After Penalty Miss Vs Bologna

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen missed the chance to return to scoring form, as he missed a penalty in Napoli’s 0-0 draw at Bologna in Sunday’s Serie A game, Completesports.com reports.

Osimhen has now gone four straight games (in all competitions) without scoring for Napoli.

The last time he scored for the Serie A champions was in the 2-0 home win against Sassuolo on August 27.

Osimhen was unlucky in the first half when his strike hit the inside of the far post, with the aid of a Lukasz Skorupski fingertip.

He then wasted Napoli’s best chance to win when he fired a penalty off target in the 73rd minute.

Also he was visibly angry at Napoli coach Rudi Garcia when he was replaced in the 86th minute.

The draw leaves Napoli in seventh place on eighth points and seven points behind leaders Inter Milan.

This season Osimhen has scored three goals in five appearances in the Italian top flight.

He was top scorer in the league last campaign with 26 goals, becoming the first-ever African to achieve the feat.

In Ligue 1, former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams failed to score in Montpellier’s 0-0 draw at home against Rennes.

Adams, who made the starting 11, was replaced with nine minutes left to play.

It was the fourth straight game that he has failed to score, after last netting on August 19.

So far he has three goals from six league appearances for Montpellier who are 13th in six points and are winless in their last four games (two defeats, two draws).
