Their are indications that Super Eagles coach, Jose Paseiro many take up a new role with the Algerian Football Federation.
This is coming as his contract as the coach of the Nigerian Football Federation ends officially February 29.
Recall during the AFCON 2023, Paseiro led the Super Eagles team to meet the target of the NFF by taking the Super Eagles to the final after defeating the host country Cote D’Ivoire.
He had been given the semi-final target before going for the tournament in Cote D’Ivoire
However, the Super Eagles coach allegedly declined offer to renew his contact with the team.
According to Algerian Press, Paseiro had accepted an offer by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) who ware in need of new man to take over as head coach, after parting ways with Djamel Belmadi.
The publication acknowledged his acceptance letter in writing to the president of the Algerian Football Federation Walid Sadi.
Meanwhile, plans to make announcement to the media will be made public next week when his contract with NFF would have totally expired.
However, Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic was their top choice for the job before considering Paserio after he wasn’t able to meet up within 48 hours deadline that was given to accept the job.
Also, the lawyer of the coach called FA president at the expiration of the deadline to approve that his client is taking the job.
It is uncertain if the AFA will hand over the job to Paseiro.
