Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka is of interest to German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, Sports247 reports.
According to reputable German football magazine Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen are in the market for a winger to bolster their options in attack.
The Bay Arena outfit have Olayinka and FC Nordsjaelland’s 18-year-old Ghanaian prospect Kamaldeen Sulemana on their wishlist.
Olayinka gave a good account of himself when Slavia faced Leverkusen in the group stage of this season’s Europa League. He scored the game’s only goal in the 80th minute after coming off the bench.
Last summer, the 25-year-old was targeted by fellow Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. A deal did not materialize due to Stuttgart’s unwillingness to meet the player’s price tag.
Olayinka who joined Slavia Praha from Gent in 2018 recently extended his contract with the Czech league champions by a further year. His new deal runs until June 30, 2023.
