Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has approved N85,000 new minimum wage for public servants in the state.
Fubara, in a Facebook post on Friday said after meeting with the traditional rulers, he also met had had productive discussion with Labour Leaders, during which he announced an increase in the minimum wage for Rivers State workers to ₦85,000, effective November.
“Rivers State workers will be better off for it,” Fubara stated, highlighting his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of workers in the state.
This announcement marks a significant step towards enhancing the living standards of the workforce in Rivers State, reflecting the Governor’s dedication to addressing the needs and concerns of the state’s citizens.
Manwhile, Fubara also expressed his gratitude for the visit from the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, led by His Majesty King Chike Anderson Worlu Wodo.
The meeting reinforced the collaboration between the government and traditional institutions, with Fubara emphasising the importance of unity in serving the people of Rivers State.
In a statement following the visit, Fubara stated, “The royal support of the Council reassures us that we stand together with our people.
Assuredly, we will continue to uphold and respect the traditional institution.”
He thanked the Rulers Council for their presence and ongoing support.
