Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has signed a new deal with California-based label, Knitting Factory Management, placing his brand on a higher international pedestal.
“The Kuti family are part of Knitting Factory’s DNA; they are synonymous with our brand. We’re looking forward to expanding opportunities for Seun Kuti wherever we can find them, which we expect, will be everywhere,” Knitting Factory Entertainment, Chief Executive, Morgan Margolis expressed.
Since 2009, Knitting Factory has also been responsible for the worldwide promotion of Seun’s father, Fela Kuti’s catalogue, comprising of nearly 50 albums.
Knitting Factory’s manager, Aaron Johnson, expressed that “Seun Kuti, like his father Fela, is more than a musician or a composer. He is an artist who speaks truth to power and won’t compromise his values or beliefs. Being a part of Seun’s team is an honour and I’m excited for all the projects he has in the works, from albums with Egypt 80 to collaborations with other artists, Seun has a lot to show the world,”

Seun Kuti began spearheading his father’s band, Egypt 80, in 1997. With over six full-length compilation projects to his name, Seun Kuti has carved a reputation for being one of the biggest billboards of the legendary Afrobeat genre. His 2018 project, Black Times, also earned a Grammy nomination.
