Singer Seun Kuti has addressed the ongoing rift between his fellow musicians, Burna Boy and Speed Darlington, distancing himself from the saga.
The conflict began when Speed Darlington was arrested after suggesting that Burna Boy engaged in an illicit relationship with embattled American music executive Diddy to secure a Grammy nomination.
During a recent Instagram live session, Seun Kuti clarified his stance, stating that although Burna Boy gifted him diamond jewelry, this does not make him the Grammy-winning artiste’s close adviser. Kuti made it clear that he has no intention of being drawn into the feud.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy and Speed Darlington’s case; just because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser,” Kuti explained. He also noted that Diddy, who Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of having illicit ties with, was actually responsible for making Speed Darlington popular by reposting his song “Bangdadang,” which garnered significant attention.
“Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular. He reposted ‘Bangdadang,’ which made the song popular. I’ve done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” Kuti stressed.
